New 'Ice Age' drifts into top spot with $46.6M

(AP) ? The animated sequel "Ice Age: Continental Drift" froze out the competition to take over the No. 1 spot at the weekend box office with a $46.6 million debut.

The top 20 movies at U.S. and Canadian theaters Friday through Sunday, followed by distribution studio, gross, number of theater locations, average receipts per location, total gross and number of weeks in release, as compiled Monday by Hollywood.com are:
