British showjumpers Nick Skelton and Scott Brash failed to win a medal in the final of the individual competition as Switzerland?s Steve Guerdat took gold. Both the 54-year-old Skelton, who was riding Big Star, and Scott Brash on Hello Sanctos, finished the first round of the competition with no errors and no time faults. But Skelton knocked off a fence on his second round, adding four points to his score and Brash did likewise towards the very end of his final round, leaving the British duo outside of the medal places in joint-fifth. Elsewhere for GB, Ben Maher went into the final rounds on four points, which added to the four he recorded in his first round, to leave him placed joint-ninth. Skelton, Brash and Maher already had one gold going into today?s competition after claiming Britain?s first team showjumping title for 60 years on Monday.
